Buon Giorno!
So the baptism didn’t happen. The ward was there and Sander was all dressed in white and then some info. came out that Sander’s mom didn’t ever tell her companion that Sander was taking lessons or would be baptized (hes strict Catholic). Whoops. So it was a thing, and it was pretty stressful. But today we are going to visit Sander and play basketball with him (it’s p-day).
Yesterday was really hard. Here it’s like you have one really good day and then the next day is extremely hard. This work is hard! I am trying to exercise my faith though, and I know things will work out.
We will talk this Sunday by Skype. I will use Ryan’s account. Be ready to talk from 7-10 am. I will try to send you an email and let you know what’s going on.
First I have some things I would like to ask.
There is a film To Rome With Love that everyone is talking about here. It’s by Woody Allen. You guys should go see it! Who are the stars? What is it rated?
By the way, this keyboard is really messed up and the space bar sticks and I can’t find the question mark and I don’t care about my spelling one bit :)
Every night I wake up in the middle of the night with cramps in my calves. Is this because I am walking a lot or because I am stressed? It usually happens in both legs at the same time. I feel like I am flexing my legs when I sleep ‘cause I am stressed. I sleep on the most uncomfortable bed known to man, haha.
Also, could you send me some recipes in the mail to my Varese apartment. Please make then simple and more fat free. We want recipes for bread, and other quick easy things that aren’t calorie heavy. I would especially like to make olive bread if you could find a good easy recipe for me! Also send a recipe for good tomato soup, not heavy on the cream.
Anyways, this week the water hasn’t been working in our apartment haha. When we
turn on the faucet, the water is brown. Yuck. It’s like that for the
whole building and they are finally going to fix it today. So the baptism didn’t happen. We got another baptismal date, so we have about 4. Her name is Carina and she is the sweetest, nicest thing. She has a little daughter and is from Peru. Two of her brothers are LDS and live in USA. She is going through a really difficult time right now and she just wants to do whatever she can to learn about the gospel. Our investigator, Richie, is progressing really quickly. He is so elect. We had a lesson about keeping the Sabbath day holy and he brought his friend. We asked his friend what he thought it meant to keep the Sabbath day holy and he didn’t really understand the question. So then Richie went on for 5 minutes to explain what it meant, citing verses in the Bible by memory and all that. Sorella Oakes and I were laughing really hard by the end because we were like "Richie, we have nothing to teach you, you already know it all!" He is so ready to be baptized. We moved his date up 2 weeks.
We have district meeting every Monday. It’s just 4 of us, me, my companion, and the two elders from Busto-Arcitzio. We will have zone conference on the 19th I think. I am excited to go back into Milan.
Anyway, I love hearing from you. We are seeing miracles every day. I love you so much. I can’t wait to hear from you on Sunday!
We will get to talk for 40 minutes so prepare 10 million things to talk about. To get celebrity news, you can go to people.com and also zimbio.com.
Tell everyone I say hi.
P.S. I really, really miss your cooking. Yesterday my companion made soup for lunch. She boiled a pan of water, put in frozen veggies, a can of tuna (!) and about a 4th a cup of rosemary. Yeahhhhhhhhhh.....Please send me some recipes :)
Love you!
